THE AUTOMOBILE AND FASHION MUSEUM IS 13 YEARS OLD SINCE THE INAUGURATION OF THE COLLECTION IN THE OLD TOBACCO FACTORY OF MÁLAGA
18.9.2023.- In 2010, the more of 90 classic cars property of the Magalhaes family of Tabacalera made their new home to become one of the most original museums of Málaga.
The inauguration was celebrated by Joao Magalhaes, who owned the collection until last month, accompanied by the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre.
A museum that continues to grow
The Automobile and Fashion Museum’s collection of vintage cars has not stopped growing since this inauguration.
And not only in the automotive sector, but also in the fashion world, with haute couture pieces that currently include more than 300 designers from recognized companies such as Chanel, Versace, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Balmain, etc…
Tribute to Joao Magalhaes
This anniversary is a tribute to the collection owner, Joao Magalhaes, died last August.
The Portuguese collector continued his father’s legacy in the world of vehicle collecting. Magalhaes decided to collect all the pieces of classic vehicles in a single space such as the historic building of Tabacalera.
Not content with this, Joao Magalhaes expanded his collection, carving out a niche for himself in the world of fashion and haute couture, exhibiting emblematic pieces in his collection that are considered true jewels by fashion lovers. Unique pieces by great national and international designers.
Joao Magalhaes’ goal was to turn the Automobile and Fashion Museum into an international benchmark with a unique collection. And, finally, he has achieved it.
