FERRARI CUSTOMERS TAKE CENTRE STAGE THIS SPRING
Maranello, 26 Jan 2017.– Two unmissable events, the Ferrari Tribute to Targa Florio and Mille Miglia, are in store for Ferrari customers this April and May. Taking place within a month of each other, they will offer lots of excitement along some of Italy’s most beautiful roads.
Targa Florio 101
The 101st Targa Florio will be held from 20 to 23 April. Ferrari customers, with cars from every era, will be invited to participate in the Tribute dedicated to the demanding Sicilian race, won over the years by drivers such as Juan Manuel Fangio, Arturo Merzario and Nino Vaccarella. The route will afford participants unforgettable views as it passes through some of the most iconic and beautiful places in Italy. Departing from Giardini Naxos on Friday 21st, the first stage will visit the enchanting Taormina and then proceed to Savoca and Aci Castello before heading to Catania. In the afternoon the cars will then have a chance to lap at the Autodromo di Pergusa before dinner in Palermo. The second stage will take participants from Cefalù to Scillato in the morning and then from Tribune di Cerda to Termini Imerese and Bagheria before finishing in Palermo. The last leg will pass through the towns of Monreale, Castellammare del Golfo and Segesta before the finish at Palazzo Francavilla in Piazza Verdi. The unmissable Mille Miglia
The Ferrari Tribute to Mille Miglia from 18 to 21 May, will follow the 35th edition of the annual classic race for vintage cars. As usual, the event will start and finish in Brescia with its turning point in Rome. The owners of Ferraris built before 1957 will take part in the regularity race. However, alongside them Ferrari Tribute customers will be invited to participate with their cars of all eras in a similar regularity race that will run on the same route. The customers will motor along scenic roads that have shaped the history of world motor racing, paying homage to the exploits of drivers such as Clemente Biondetti, Giannino Marzotto, Luigi Villoresi, Eugenio Castellotti and Piero Taruffi. The race will pass through some real wonders, such as Lake Garda, along whose banks the competition kicks off. The first leg will take drivers from Desenzano to Padua, while the second stage will go from Ferrara to Rome where the caravan will arrive in the evening, allowing Maranello’s customers to enjoy the spectacle of the eternal city at sunset. On Saturday 20th the cars will head to Parma from where on Sunday they go to Brescia, where, as usual, the race will conclude with the award ceremony.
