  • BRITISH-BORN EXECUTIVE JOINS IMMEDIATELY FROM SENIOR ROLE WITHIN BENTLEY CHINA
  • 2014 FOCUS TO BE NEW MODEL INTRODUCTIONS AND DEALER NETWORK DEVELOPMENT

(Crewe/Moscow, 19 December 2014).-  Bentley Motors has appointed Richard Leopold as its new Head of Bentley Russia, effective immediately.

Richard joins Bentley Russia from his previous role with Bentley Motors China where he was the Brand & Marketing Director for the brand’s second largest international market.  In his new role, Richard will oversee all of the British luxury marque’s operations in the Russian Federation, reporting to Bart Gerris, Regional Director Europe.

Gerris comments:  “I’m delighted to welcome Richard to lead our team in Russia at this key point for the brand.  Bentley has enjoyed significant growth in the region in recent years, and with Richard’s valuable experience we plan to continue this success with a number of new model introductions and the ongoing expansion of our dealer network.”

Richard began his automotive career in 1996 with General Motors and then worked for Saab Automobile AB where he was responsible for product marketing and global brand strategy development.  In 2007 he joined Bentley to establish a customer-centric, product strategy function where he played a key role in defining the future product portfolio for the brand, as well as supporting the successful introductions of the new Mulsanne, Continental GT and GTC models before moving to China.  His experience in helping establish the new Bentley National Sales Company in Beijing and developing the British brand in the fast-growing Chinese region will help him to effectively build upon Bentley’s leading position within the Russian luxury market.

Richard succeeds Guenter Behringer, who oversaw the establishment of Bentley Russia in 2012, and who moves to a new role within Volkswagen Group.
