FERRARI 70TH ANNIVERSARY IN UK – WINDSOR
July 15th, 2017. Windsor, UK. – To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Ferrari, Her Majesty The Queen granted Maranello Sales permission for 70 selected Ferrari owners to drive their cars through Her Majesty’s Windsor Great Park on private land which is part of the Windsor Castle Estate. The tour took in areas of the park where public access is restricted, providing some of the most magnificent views of English countryside, with woodland going back centuries and being preserved for future generations.
It seemed appropriate to start with a light breakfast on the lawns overlooked by the bronze statue of Prince Albert in military uniform on his horse, erected 130 years ago. Keeping to the strict speed limit of 38mph set by His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh, the procession escorted by The Crown Estate team, proceeded to wind its way through the beautiful wooded countryside stopping to admire the Queen’s Jubilee statue and finally the famous Copper Horse at the top of The Long Walk, before driving the final 3 mile straight down the hill to Windsor Castle where her Majesty was in residence.
This was followed by an elegant Italian inspired English picnic on the lawns of Windsor Castle. Guests socialised and admired the beautiful selection of Ferrari cars and were joined by many Ferrari fans visiting Windsor and the Castle giving them the opportunity to participate in the celebration of the Ferrari 70th Anniversary.
