The anticipation has been building with clients, media and fans, so many of whom have flocked here from around the world to this picture-postcard of California coastline. On Sunday the festivities got underway as the Ferrari 70thAnniversary Concours roared onto the lawn of the First Fairway of the Pebble Beach Golf Links. This Ferrari Concours, with a total approximate value of nearly a half a billion US dollars, is officially sanctioned by the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, signifying the first time in history that two concours have shared the spotlight at this, the most prestigious motoring event in North America.
It’s not an easy task to spotlight just a handful of the 70 masterpieces from Maranello, spanning all seven decades, that comprise this Ferrari 70th Anniversary Concours, but headlines include the 1960 250 GT SWB Competitzione; a pair of 1962 250 GTOs; 1967 275 GTS/4 “NART” Spider; pair of 288 GTOs from 1983 and 1985; and the 2013 LaFerrari.
