SINGAPORE SETS THE RECORD FOR LARGEST GATHERING OF FERRARIS IN CELEBRATION OF THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PRANCING HORSE
Singapore, 20 August 2017.– A stellar combination of beauty, performance, racing success, exclusivity and Italian flair, makes Ferrari one of the most valuable and recognizable brands in the world. In celebration of the iconic carmaker’s 70th Anniversary, Ital Auto Pte Ltd, official distributor of Ferrari in Singapore and the Ferrari Owners Club Singapore, put together a grand, thrilling sight for fans and lovers of beautiful cars across the island.
The event which broke the Singapore Book of Records for the largest single gathering of Ferraris, happened last Sunday as the Ferrari 70th Anniversary Parade Singapore took off from the F1 Pit Building. The convoy of 157 prancing horses covered 70 kilometres, across the city’s landmarks of Marina Bay Sands, Botanical Gardens, Orchard Road, and the Padang, before concluding at the swanky new JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach.
“I am very proud to be among a group of enthusiastic and dedicated owners here in Singapore, who have put in so much effort to share the passion of Ferrari with fans here,” said Dieter Knechtel, CEO of Ferrari Far & Middle East, “the Company was built on the guidance of Enzo Ferrari, and as we move forward into the future, we will continue to ensure that his legacy lives on.”
Leading the way was the LaFerrari Aperta, the car with the most extreme performance, developed to mark the 70th Anniversary, followed by the 812 Superfast, the latest in technological development from the marque. Amongst the parade were also special editions like the F12tdf, 458 Speciale Aperta, and the Tailor-Made SG50 F12berlinetta, as well as rarely seen older models like the 308 GTB, F355berlinetta, F430 Scuderia, F308 Quattrovalvole and the Testarossa.
“I am incredibly honoured to have the opportunity to share what we love with the fans in Singapore and see so many thrilled by the cars”, shared Leong Kah Wah, President of the Ferrari Owners Club, Singapore. “Though it was a challenge logistically; coordinating the large parade, the spirit and dedication of the owners made it possible”, added organiser, Ital Auto Director, Nick Syn.
Around the world over, countries celebrate Ferrari’s seven decades with exhibitions, races and large gatherings of passionate Ferraristi. In Singapore, fans can look forward to next prancing horse event; the Ferrari Challenge Asia-Pacific, as it returns to Singapore in support of the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix in September.
The Ferrari Parade in Singapore was made possible with the support of sponsors of Hublot, Shell Helix, JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach, Dalmore and Cool N Lite.
