Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. STUTTGART-BASED SPORTS CAR MAKER RACES TO FIRST PLACE IN SATISFACTION SURVEY

Stuttgart/Detroit, June, 2013.- Porsche drivers in the USA are extremely satisfied with sports cars from Zuffenhausen and Leipzig. The Stuttgart-based company took first place in the “Initial Quality Study” presented in Detroit today (June 19) by the renowned American market research company J.D. Power and Associates.

“Porsche stands for sportiness and performance,” said Matthias Müller, President and CEO of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. “We are pleased to see that its equally high levels of quality in design, development and production have also been confirmed with these awards.”

Alongside the Porsche brand, American customers voted the Porsche 911 – which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year – to the topmost place: With this, the iconic sports car receives the J.D. Power Award as the vehicle with the highest customer satisfaction in the “Midsize Premium Sporty Car” segment. The mid-engine roadster Boxster also came in first and received the “Highest Initial Quality – Compact Premium Sports Car” award. In the customer survey, both the sporty SUV Cayenne and the Gran Turismo Panamera landed on the winner’s podium: they both attained 3rd place in the “Midsize Premium CUV” and “Large Premium Car” segment, respectively. These are the best overall results for Porsche in its company history in this competition.

The survey of more than 83,000 American car buyers forms the basis for the “Initial Quality Study”, which is conducted once annually. These buyers indicated how satisfied they were with the quality of their new cars during the first three months after delivery. The study evaluated a total of 230 vehicle models from 33 carmakers, which were initially registered between November 2012 and February 2013. The owners answered questions on over 230 criteria from different categories.
