SEVERAL INTERNATIONAL PERSONALITIES HAVE SHOWN THEIR INTEREST IN THE COLLECTION WHICH APPLIES A UNPRECEDENTED MUSEUM CONCEPT

Málaga 23rd September, 2014.- The Automobile Musuem of Málaga has grown significantly both at a local and international level since its opening four years ago. Recently, an important automotive and fashion sector have shown their interest for the value of the collecion and its internacional projection.

The recently inaugurated exhibition “Cocktail in the Forest” had as a first visitor His Royal Majesty Queen Letizia in the Gala Dinner of the XIX Forum Spain-USA last 5th of September. Moreover, it has been acknowledged as a one-of-a-kind exhibition by fashion experts. The display formed by 16 haute-couture models with ceramic animal heads will be expanded to up to 20 compositions by adding new designs combined in an Italian style, that is, with designs by  Roberto Cavalli, Versace, Armani, Dolce Gabbana or Prada

On the other hand, las Saturday 20th of September, the  Director of the Museum, Mr. Joao Magalhaes received a representation from the Shangai Auto Museum that came to Málaga with the purpose of knowing in person the concept by which automobiles, haute couture, contemporary art and design are joined. Among the members of the Shangai group there  could be found Mr. Gao Yun, gobernor in a district of the big city and Mr. Wang Hao secretary at the Embassy in Madrid. After a tour around the Museum, they showed a determined interest in carrying out collaboration programmms as well as temporary exhibitions with the MAM.

The policy of opening the Museum at a international level is producing results with the participation of a selected sample of the haute couture collection that will be moved next 31st of December of this year to Pekin in order to take part in the fashion show to be celebrated in the France Embassy with the occasion of the 50th anniversary that conmemmorates the good relations between both countries. The President of the Rrepublic of France and the President of the Chinese Republic will attend the show sponsored by Pierre Cardin.

Such international proyection is the result of the quality and innovation that is given at the Museum. A global Museum of the future as the new sculpture “Human Missile” shows – a tribute Ayrton Senna inspired in a Formula 1 car.
