- THE SHOPPING CENTRE “EL INGENIO” HOSTS DURING JUNE AN EXHIBITION OF VEHICLES AND FASHION OF THE AUTOMOBILE MUSEUM
- FIVE CARS AND NINE COUTURE GOWNS WILL BE EXPOSED UNDER THE TITLE “HISTORIC AUTOMOBILE AND FASHION JEWELS FROM THE TWENTIETH CENTURY” FROM 9TH TO 30TH JUNE
- IT IS THE FIRST TIME THAT A SHOPPING CENTER SHOWS ITS SUPPORT FOR DEVELOPING CULTURE ACTIONS IN THE PROVINCE
Málaga June 8th, 2013. The Automobile Museum presents in Vélez Málaga, capital of the region of “La Axarquia”, a select sample of some of the most outstanding vehicles of its various rooms, as well as a selection of couture gowns. The Shopping Centre “El Ingenio” has expressed concern over this action culture pioneer in developing the province. It receives five exclusive cars of the collection to be exhibited under the title “Historic Automobile and Fashion Jewels from the twentieth century” from 9th to 31th June and nine spectacular dresses belonging to Maga Sublime Collection. A unique opportunity to see these historic gems outside their usual environment, bringing them closer to the locals and visitors who are further away from the capital. In fact, both the suits as the vehicles have never before been exhibited outside the museum facilities.
The selection of cars was carried out according to the most representative models of several themed areas. The Cord USA 1936, located in the room Car Design, the orange Cadillac we can find in the room Dream Cars; a Jaguar from 1954, a spectacular sporting car from Dolce Vita room; the Lincoln-Zhephyr striking of 1941 “Barracuda” of space dedicated to Tuning, or the Rolls-Royce from 1924, better known as “The Refrigerator” because in the early 50’s was changed by this appliance.
Some of the dresses are “Il Siciliano”, a theatrical and dramatic model created by Loris Azzaro, couture from 70´s; “Andy Warhol” a Nina Ricci dress, Nina and Warhol influenced each other. Also the model “Corolla”, a coat of Dior; the “Aristocratic”, a skirt of Antonio Canovas del Castillo del Rey that was one of the most sought after designers after the war; “The Great Gatbsy” a rare and authentic 20´s dress charleston style that belonged to a French lady of high society. Finally the “Futuristic” Japanese model Issey Miyake creator is not considered as clothing but as sculptures.
