STUTTGART, 25.04.2012.- THOMAS EDIG, DEPUTY CHAIRMAN OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD AND MEMBER OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD – HUMAN RESOURCES – OF DR. ING. H.C. F. PORSCHE AG, STUTTGART, WAS OFFICIALLY APPOINTED HONORARY CONSUL OF THE KINGDOM OF NORWAY IN BADEN-WÜRTTEMBERG ON WEDNESDAY.

He was introduced to political and business representatives by the Norwegian ambassador Sven Erik Svedman at a festive reception in the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. Porsche has been the seat of Norway’s consular representation in Stuttgart for the past 10 years.

Thomas Edig, who has been a Member of the sports car manufacturer’s Executive Board since 2006, described the appointment as “a great honour”.

Norway is considered a role model on account of its farsighted economic and environmental policy. In his address, he stressed that everyone benefited from a lively exchange at the political, economic and cultural level. He said he was looking forward to “a good and trustful cooperation with the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Berlin.”

Norway’s ambassador Sven Svedman welcomes Thomas Edig’s appointment as the new Norwegian honorary consul in Baden-Württemberg. “Today Germany is Norway’s most important partner in Europe and our most important trading partner. The Federal State of Baden-Württemberg is among the most innovative in Europe. We are finding it fascinating to follow how you are delivering on the decision to exit nuclear power and switch to the new green technology. We are looking forward to working with Mr Thomas Edig.”
